Christmas Tree 2010

We went out today to pick out our Christmas tree. Luckily it didn't take us very long at all. We had it picked out in less than 15 minutes. Aiden got up in the front seat with daddy and mommy to help look through the trees as we drove down the lanes. It was so much fun listening to him and seeing him point out the trees.
Miley was fast asleep in the backseat and stayed sleeping the entire time. I was hoping to get both the kids out by the tree, but didn't think I should waker her up.

While Daddy was cutting the tree down, Aiden was watching with his hands over his ears. He thought the chainsaw was too loud! He thought it was pretty cool though when the tree fell over!

We came home and Aiden was all excited to help me decorate it. He went through all my ornaments looking for a Santa Clause.
He put a few on the tree (all at the bottom and in one little area) and then he was bored with it.
Mommy finished the rest of the tree. Once daddy came in, him and Aiden hung up the Star on the tree. It was great!
It is officially Christmas at the Boyd home. I'm hoping to run to town tomorrow to get a few more lights for the bottom of the tree and for some more decor outside.

Hope everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit! Now all we need is some snow!!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Halloween Pictures

We had some pics taken of the kiddos in their costumes and they turned out SO great! We didn't take any pics trick or treating...too busy! But here are a few pics of the kids.

We dressed Aiden as a deer hunter. Camo paint for his face, a toy gun that makes cool noises and has toy shot gun shells, and rattling horns...not to mention the awesome new camo outfit. He just loved it!

Miley was a "skunk". I have a friend that makes homemade tutus and hair pieces. She designed a halloween line this year. When I found the costume I fell in love with it. Doesn't she just look adorable?!

FAMILY PICTURES

As our family is growing, my mom and sisters had been talking about getting together to have our family pictures taken. After losing my grandparents recently, we knew that we wanted to have the pictures taken in their barn.
The only time that would work was an evening after 5pm. We were going to run out of daylight if we didn't get them scheduled soon. Luckily we were able to squeeze the pics in before the time change.
The photographer that we chose, ANDREA ORTIZ of After the Stork Photography captured the GREATEST pictures! She did an amazing job and we are SO thankful.

We all had individual family pictures taken, as well as a large family one.

Here is just a preview!!

What a Weekend!

Had a great weekend! My sister, Jess, my mom and I went to the Matthew West and Josh Wilson concert at the Christian Family Center in Adrian. It was a blast! Amazing Worship!

Sunday we took the kids to get their pics taken in their Halloween costumes. They both looked adorable. I took a few pictures at the house before we left. I cannot wait to post the professional pics of them. Here is a quick preview of them. Aiden is dressed up as a "Hunter" this year. I didn't get a picture of him with his face paint on, so you will have to wait to see that. He just loves his gun. It makes real shooting noises and everything. Oh and we through in some rattling horns too!

Miss Miley was a skunk. A friend of mine makes tutus and hairbows and she had a halloween line this year. The name of her business is Two Tutu Ladies. Isn't Miley just adorable!!

Here are just a few random new pics of Miss Miley and Aiders. I can't believe how quickly she is growing! Before you know it she'll be turning one and Aiden will be 3...YIKES!

My new fave...

Just wanted to share...

I just purchased the greatest shoes in the world.

I recently found this pair on ebay and I fell in love! They are SO comfortable and give so much support.

I've never been a huge fan of CROCs, but once I wore a pair of Croc flip flops I was hooked. I truly cannot go back to a regular pair of flip flops.

I have tried and my feet ache! I encourage everyone to check out http://www.crocs.com/. Check out the selection of shoe types made by CROC. They don't just make the "nurse" shoe. There really are some super cute styles.

Like seriously...how cute are these??

Miss Miley's 4 month Update

Well I took Miss Miley in for her 4 month checkup. Surprise...Surprise...she is in the 97th Percentile for both height and weight. She is 26" long and 15lbs 2 oz.

Doc says she is growing beautifully. She is starting to hold her head up better now, but still wants nothing to do with belly time. She definitely is going at her own pace...which I am thrilled with. Since Miley is our last PLANNED baby, I want her to take her time. I am in no hurry to have her scurrying around the floor. I love that she stays where I put her for now.

In the last couple weeks she acquired thrush, which is an oral yeast infection. We've been treating her for that and that has made her irritable. She hasn't been sleeping that well and has been quite cranky. Just last weekend she was up every hour and a half for a couple of nights. Not what mommy and daddy are used to. She has slept 6 or 7 hours since birth. However, in the last couple of nights she has been sleeping through the night and doing much better. She is getting back to her normal content and happy self.

She has chosen in the last couple weeks that she prefers milk from a bottle. It comes out with a lot less work on her part than nursing from mommy. I still nurse at night, but she wants nothing to do with it at during the day. (which is more convenient for me anyway!)

Aaron and I are so blessed to have two beautiful, wonderful children. I thank God every day for the family he has blessed me with.

Kids do the craziest things...

First off, I want to update everyone on Miley's progress. Today is Thursday, September 28th. Miley has been taking 3oz from a bottle every morning since Saturday, September 19th. Yes, this is a HAPPY day for us! I decided the ball was really in my court. Why should I expect her to choose the bottle when I breastfeed her every chance I get? She since has taken 3-4 oz from a bottle for the babysitter the last two days =) VERY EXCITING!! I'm still planning to breastfeed in the evenings, but conquering the bottle has been a HUGE step!

I tried cereal with her the Tuesday night. She did pretty well. She really liked the idea of the spoon in her mouth. She didn't spit it right out as soon as it touched her toungue. She actually welcomed it, but didn't seem to know what to do once the cereal got into her mouth.

She has started to coo and make noises. She actually is beginning to laugh out loud. Last night Aiden and I were playing in his room and she was laying next to us on the floor. She was watching Aiden and just busted out laughing...real laughs that sounded like an adult laugh. I ran to get my camera and of course once the camera was in hand she wouldn't do it again. It was the cutest thing!

As for Mr. Aiden...

He has been doing pretty well. Trying to adjust to Mommy's new work schedule is taking a small tole on him, but he is doing better with it. We are noticing more competing for attention. Just last night I was taking a video of Miley cooing while Aiden was eating his dinner. I looked over at him only to find a piece of buttered bread on top of his head...butter side down. I couldn't do anything but laugh and start snapping pictures.

You've gotta love the comedy of children!!!
All in all we are doing great and adjusting to the new schedules. Looking forward to fall and Halloween. Can't wait to post pics of the kids in their costumes!! =)
